Botulinum toxin treatments

Botulinum toxin is a substance found in nature and synthesised by bacteria and reduces the activity of mimic musculature. Only a few drops of the diluted substance are injected exactly into the muscle to be treated with the help of fine needles. As a result, the activity of the muscle is constricted and mimic wrinkles, i.e. wrinkles caused by muscular activity, are smoothed out. The skin looks more even and relaxed because of the effect of muscle relaxation, meaning wrinkles disappear. The effect lasts for 4 to 6 months, after which time the muscle will regain its full function, meaning the facial expression can return completely.

The main application areas for botulinum toxin on the face are anger and front wrinkles as well as crow’s feet (wrinkles around the eyes). Downturned corners of the mouth, tiny lip wrinkles as well as neck and décolleté wrinkles can also be successfully treated this way.

In case of increased axillary sweating, hyperhidrosis, or tension headache and migraine, botulinum toxin is also used with great success.
